Even G2 vs Even G1
Even stopped selling G1 directly on 15 September 2026, so this comparison is mainly for owners deciding whether to upgrade and for shoppers looking at leftover G1 stock. The idea is the same in both: green text in both lenses, no camera, no speakers, and a phone doing the heavy lifting. G2 makes the display larger and brighter, doubles the microphones, adds an IP65 rating and works with the R1 ring. Support for G1 continues, with security updates promised until at least June 2029.
Short answer
New buyers should get G2: it is the model Even sells, and the display, battery rating and water rating are clear steps up. G1 owners have no urgent reason to switch, since repairs, warranty and security support continue. Upgrade if you want the R1 ring, which Even only describes as a G2 controller, or if G1's shorter text area feels cramped.
Choose Even G2 if
Choose G2 for the current hardware: a 640x350 display at 27.5 degrees and 1,200 nits, four mics, IP65, a case with seven full recharges and Even's quoted battery of up to two days. It weighs 36 g and sells from $599 in G2 A and G2 B shapes.
Choose Even G1 if
Keep or buy G1 only if you find it well below its last $499 price and are happy with a smaller 640x200 display at 25 degrees. Even still supports it, but the single-vision Rx option is sold out, so prescription buyers should look at G2.

- Battery: up to 1.5 days for G1 with 2.5 recharges in the case; up to two days for G2 with seven. Even doesn't publish hours for either.

Questions people ask
Will my G1 keep working?
Yes. Even says existing owners can keep using the Even App, with security support until at least June 2029, and that repair, replacement and warranty continue.
Can I still get prescription lenses for G1?
The single-vision option is sold out. Even's support article lists SPH +8.00 to -12.00 and CYL up to ±4.00, but doesn't give a separate range for G1, so ask Even before ordering.
