Ray-Ban Meta is the frame line Meta builds with EssilorLuxottica, and it now splits five ways. Gen 3 is the newest camera frame, with a six-mic array and Meta's longest battery quote for a Ray-Ban camera model. Gen 2 is still sold and is named in Meta's Early Access articles for Autocapture and conversation focus. Optics Gen 2 is Gen 2-class hardware in frames built for full-time prescription wearers, sold through opticians. Ray-Ban Meta Audio removes the camera for a lighter frame and the longest battery in the range. Meta Ray-Ban Display adds a small screen in the right lens and comes with the Neural Band. The older Gen 1 is off Ray-Ban's US page and mostly sold used. To choose, start with two questions. Do you want a camera? If not, Audio. Do you want text in view? If so, Display, as long as your prescription fits its single-vision range. Everyone else is picking between Gen 3 and Gen 2 on price, or Optics if fit with lenses matters most. All models use the same Meta AI app, and feature availability varies by country.
