Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) with prescription lenses

Supported range: -12.00 to +6.00 total power (Gen 3 Aviator: -6.00 to +4.00).[1]

Gen 3 launched at Meta Connect in September 2026, and Ray-Ban said from the start it would support both Rx and non-Rx lenses. Meta's help center gives one range for Ray-Ban Meta glasses, -12.00 to +6.00 total power, with one named exception: the limited-edition Gen 3 Aviator, made for Ray-Ban's 90th anniversary, is limited to -6.00 to +4.00. So the frame you pick decides whether your prescription fits. If you are strongly nearsighted and like the Aviator shape, check this before anything else. Ordering works like any Ray-Ban prescription pair, online or through a certified optical retailer.

How to order

  1. Calculate total power by adding sphere and cylinder.
  2. If you want the Aviator, confirm your total power sits within -6.00 to +4.00; other Gen 3 frames allow -12.00 to +6.00.
  3. Order prescription lenses with the frame from Ray-Ban, or through a certified optical retailer.
  4. Set up the glasses in the Meta AI app once they arrive.

Questions people ask

Why is the Gen 3 Aviator range narrower?

Meta doesn't give a reason. Its help center simply lists the Aviator at -6.00 to +4.00 while other Ray-Ban Meta frames go to -12.00 to +6.00.

Is Gen 3 better than Gen 2 for a strong prescription?

Not on published figures. Both list -12.00 to +6.00 total power for standard frames; only the Gen 3 Aviator is narrower.
