Android XR display glasses (Google / Samsung)
Android XR display glasses (Google / Samsung) is a pair of smart glasses with an in-lens display from Google with Samsung and partners. Android XR display glasses (Google / Samsung) has been announced (8 December 2025) but is not on sale yet.
Android XR display glasses are an announced category, not a product you can order. Google said in December 2025 that both AI glasses and display AI glasses would arrive in 2026. At I/O 2026 it changed the order: audio glasses with no display launch first this fall, and display glasses follow later, with no date given. Android Authority reported that Google strongly implied none reach retail before 2027. Google's description so far is an in-lens display that will 'show you the information you need'. The rest is leaks: an April 2026 report describes a Samsung model codenamed 'Haean' with a micro-LED in-lens display for 2027 at USD 600-900, which no company has confirmed. The newest report, from The Elec via 9to5Google on 2026-09-10, says Samsung has asked for color microdisplays for a later pair, which points to late 2027 at the earliest.

Limitations to know before you buy
- No specs. Resolution, field of view, brightness, battery and weight are all unpublished.
- No product name. The 'Haean' codename comes from leaks, not from Google or Samsung.
- The date has already slipped. Google said 2026 in December 2025 and gave no date at I/O 2026.
- Phone support isn't stated. Google's Android-and-iOS statement at I/O 2026 was made for its intelligent eyewear as a category, not this model.
- The leaked price is wide and unconfirmed. The 'Haean' report's USD 600-900 range comes from an April 2026 leak, not from Samsung or Google.
- Color and eye count are open. 9to5Google, citing The Elec, reports panels around 0.2 inches or smaller and says a monocular or binocular layout is apparently undecided.
- Audio glasses come first. Google's I/O post says audio glasses launch first, this fall. The first Samsung-built pairs on sale will have no screen at all.
Questions people ask
Can developers get Android XR display glasses now?
Google offered developer kits for audio and display glasses through the Android XR Developer Catalyst Program. Applications closed on 2026-06-30.
What's the difference between audio glasses and display glasses?
Audio glasses have a camera, speakers and microphones but no screen. Display glasses add a display in the lens, which Google says will show the information you need. Google adopted these two names in SDK Developer Preview 4.
What is confirmed about Android XR display glasses as of 2026-10-06?
Google has confirmed the category and its purpose: glasses that show you the information you need, right when you need it. It has also said its glasses pair with Android and iOS phones, though that line was written for its eyewear as a whole. Developer kits went out through the Developer Catalyst Program, whose applications closed on 2026-06-30.
What is still unconfirmed?
Everything a buyer would compare: name, price, launch date, countries, resolution, brightness, battery, weight and prescription options. The 'Haean' codename and the USD 600-900 range come from an April 2026 leak reported by TechRepublic, and the color-display detail comes from The Elec. Neither Google nor Samsung has confirmed either report.
Will the first Android XR display glasses show color?
Not known. 9to5Google, relaying The Elec in September 2026, says Samsung requested color microdisplays for a future pair and is still weighing performance against price. Google's own posts describe an in-lens display without saying whether it shows color.
