Galaxy XR
Galaxy XR is a mixed-reality headset from Samsung. It starts at $1,799.99 in the United States (256GB; controllers USD 249.99 extra). Samsung sells or supports it in 3 countries. Galaxy XR went on sale in October 2025.
Galaxy XR is the first Android XR device, and it is a headset, not glasses. It covers your eyes with dual micro-OLED displays at 3552x3840 per eye and a 109 by 100 degree view, uses pass-through cameras to show the room, and runs on a Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 with 16GB of RAM. You control it with hand and eye tracking, Gemini by voice, or optional controllers. The headset weighs 545 g with the forehead cushion, and the external battery pack adds 302 g; Samsung quotes 2 hours of general use and 2.5 hours of video. It's standalone, but setup and call continuity lean on a Galaxy phone. Think of it as the Android counterpart to Apple Vision Pro.
Good fit
Galaxy phone owners in the US, UK or South Korea who want a large virtual workspace, films and Android apps in a headset, and accept short sessions per charge.
Look elsewhere if
Skip it if you want something to wear all day or outdoors. Look at Samsung's Intelligent Eyewear instead, or the XREAL 1S for a lighter wired screen.
