How to update firmware
Applies to XREAL 1S, XREAL One and XREAL One Pro.
XREAL updates One series firmware in two ways. On a computer, the xreal.com/ota page walks you through it, and XREAL says it takes about five minutes. If you own XREAL Beam Pro, connecting it to Wi-Fi lets it update the glasses automatically. Updates are XREAL's first fix for issues like frequent shutdowns, so it is worth checking for one before troubleshooting further. The computer route works on Windows or Mac. Keep the cable connected the whole time: the glasses have no battery and switch off the moment the cable comes out.
Official steps
- On a computer, open xreal.com/ota and follow the prompts (about 5 minutes).
- Or, if you have XREAL Beam Pro, connect it to Wi-Fi and it will update the glasses automatically.
Steps from the maker's support pages.[1]
Still not working?
If an update will not start or fails partway, try a different USB-C cable and port, keep the glasses connected until it finishes, and run it again. If it keeps failing, contact XREAL support with the glasses model, your computer's operating system and browser, and the firmware version shown.
Questions people ask
Can I update XREAL One from my phone?
XREAL's documented routes are a computer at xreal.com/ota or automatic updates through Beam Pro.
Which computers can run the XREAL update?
XREAL says a Windows or Mac computer can open the official update page at xreal.com/ota.
Does XREAL 1S update itself on Beam Pro?
Yes. XREAL says that when the 1S is connected to Beam Pro, the system detects and prompts for a firmware update.
Why must the cable stay plugged in?
One series glasses have no built-in battery. XREAL says power stops and the glasses turn off once the cable is unplugged, which would interrupt an update.
Who do I contact if the update keeps failing?
XREAL's warranty page points to the contact form on its website or support@xreal.com. Include the glasses model and the firmware version.
