Best smart glasses for iPhone in 2026

Nearly every smart-glasses line works with an iPhone, but the details differ. Meta's glasses pair through the Meta AI app, which the App Store now lists as needing iOS 17.2 or later, even though some Ray-Ban and Oakley FAQs still say iOS 14.4. Even Realities needs iOS 16. Wired video glasses skip apps entirely but need an iPhone with USB-C, so the iPhone 15 or later. Android XR headsets are the exception: Samsung documents no iPhone companion support for Galaxy XR. Worth waiting for: Samsung and Google's Gentle Monster and Warby Parker eyewear, which Google says pairs with iOS, though Samsung notes some features need a Galaxy device.

  1. Best overall for iPhone: Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3)
  2. Best display glasses for iPhone: Meta Ray-Ban Display
  3. Best camera-free glasses for iPhone: Even G2
  4. Best wired glasses for iPhone: XREAL 1S
  5. Lowest price for iPhone: Meta Glasses (Adventurer, Fury, Starfire, Capri, Nova)

How we ranked

We ranked by published iPhone requirements (minimum iOS version, USB-C for wired glasses), the features each maker documents, US price and the countries where the device is sold. We did not test pairing, app stability or battery drain. Where a maker's FAQ and the App Store disagree on the minimum iOS version, we use the stricter App Store figure. Full details are on our iPhone compatibility page.

Questions people ask

Do Meta glasses work with iMessage?

Meta's messaging feature lists your phone's own messaging app, including SMS and iMessage, alongside WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram. You connect it in the Meta AI app, then send messages by voice. Emergency calls must be started from the phone.

Does Galaxy XR work with an iPhone?

Samsung's setup guide is built around a compatible phone and the Galaxy XR app, with Easy Setup from a Galaxy phone. It documents no iPhone companion support, so iPhone owners should compare Apple Vision Pro or display glasses.
