Best smart glasses without a camera in 2026

Plenty of people want smart glasses without a camera, for offices, schools and gyms, or simply to avoid questions from the people around them. Camera-free options fall into three groups. Display glasses such as Even G2 and Halliday G2 show text but record nothing. Audio glasses such as Amazon's Echo Frames give you an assistant, calls and music through open-ear speakers. Video glasses such as XREAL One are wired screens with no built-in camera. Worth waiting for: Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Meta's first audio-only pair, which ships in the US on 13 October 2026 at $349. Prices start at $269.99.

  1. Best overall: Even G2
  2. Best for meetings: Halliday G2
  3. Best audio-only: Echo Frames (3rd Gen)
  4. Best video glasses: XREAL One

How we ranked

Every pick has no photo or video camera according to its maker. We then ranked by what each does without one (display, audio, assistant), published prescription support, water rating, US price and the countries where it is sold. We left out glasses with sensors that see the world, such as the optical sensor on Brilliant Labs Halo, even where the maker says it can't take photos. Nothing here was tested. Microphones did not rule a model out, but we name them in the watch-outs, because a no-camera rule at work may cover audio too.

With no camera there is no capture light to explain to colleagues, and Even says the display passes through 98% of light.

Watch out: Its four microphones still listen for 'Hey Even' and during Conversate. Audio stays on your phone or earbuds, and it starts at $599.

Questions people ask

Do camera-free glasses still have microphones?

Usually. Even G2 has four, and Echo Frames respond to Alexa by voice. If recording of any kind is a concern where you work or study, check the microphone specs and settings, not only the camera.

Is Ray-Ban Meta Audio camera-free?

Yes. Meta calls it its first audio-only AI glasses, with no camera, so look and ask, Live AI, capture and Be My Eyes don't apply. It ships in the US on 13 October 2026 from $349, with 12 hours rated per charge.
