Music and audio apps (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Shazam, Audible and others)
Lets you ask Meta AI to play, pause or identify music from linked audio apps through the open-ear speakers.[1]
Meta's glasses double as open-ear headphones, and linked audio apps let you control them by voice. Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music handle music and podcasts, Shazam names the song playing around you, and Audible plays audiobooks. On Meta Ray-Ban Display you also get a Music app in the launcher and a card in the lens that shows what is playing. Voice control started in English. A December 2025 release note added French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, although Meta's current Spotify article still says Spotify voice controls are in English.

How it works
In the Meta AI app, open your glasses' settings and connect each service. After that, "Hey Meta, play my Discover Weekly on Spotify" starts playback and "Hey Meta, what song is this?" runs Shazam. The audio comes from the app on your phone. The touchpad pauses, skips and changes volume. With Spotify you can also say "Hey Meta, play a song to match this view", which uses the camera and your Spotify taste to pick music, available in English. Meta says these services run in "select regions" and has published a country list for the music services in a release note.
Turn it on
- In the Meta AI app, open your glasses' settings and connect the audio app.
- Say e.g. "Hey Meta, play my Discover Weekly on Spotify" or "Hey Meta, what song is this?" (Shazam).
- Use the touchpad to pause, skip or change volume.
Tips
- Set your default music app in the Meta AI app so you can say "play" without naming the service.
- In India, Meta says the music services require English as the default language.
- Use the touchpad for volume in public; it is quicker than a voice command.
Limits
- Audible on the glasses is available in English in the US, per Meta's current article.
- Shazam is English only, in select regions.
- Per-service country lists are not on the individual help articles, only in a release note.
Questions people ask
Can I use voice commands in a language other than English?
Meta's December 2025 release note added five more languages for music voice control, but individual service articles, including Spotify's, still name English. Expect English to be the safest choice.
Can the glasses play music without a phone?
Music streams from your phone. The glasses act as the speakers and controls.
