How to make Meta glasses battery last longer
If your glasses run out before the day does, Meta has two kinds of help. Battery saver mode is a single switch in the Meta AI app for Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta HSTN and Vanguard. Meta says it can add up to 47%, about 1.5 hours, when turned on at 20%, or up to 88%, about 7.9 hours, from a full charge. The trade-off is fewer features while it runs. The other kind is a handful of settings you can change yourself.
Turn on battery saver mode
For Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), Ray-Ban Meta Optics (Gen 2), Oakley Meta Vanguard, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), Oakley Meta HSTN and Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1).
- Open the Meta AI app on your phone.
- Go to Device settings.
- Tap Battery.
- Turn on Battery saver.
Meta: "Battery saver mode is available on all Ray-Ban Meta glasses, Oakley HSTN, and Oakley Vanguard models." "When enabled, battery saver can increase battery life by up to 47% (approximately 1.5 additional hours) when activated at 20% battery, or up to 88% (approximately 7.9 additional hours) if enabled at a full charge." It pauses "Hey Meta", automatic volume and auto-transfer, cuts max video length from 3 minutes to 1 minute and forces 1080p at 30 fps. It turns off automatically when the glasses charge to 75% or above. Device scope lists Optics as a Ray-Ban Meta model (inferred from 'all Ray-Ban Meta glasses'); Meta Glasses not named.

Battery tips (maximize battery life)
For Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), Meta Glasses (Adventurer, Fury, Starfire, Capri, Nova), Ray-Ban Meta Optics (Gen 2), Oakley Meta Vanguard, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), Oakley Meta HSTN and Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1).
- You can check your battery level at any time by asking, “Hey Meta, what is my battery level?”
- Set your video resolution to Full HD (1080P) and choose shorter video lengths. You can always switch back to higher resolution or longer videos in the Meta AI app.
- Turn off features you don't need during your activity in the Meta AI app: Adaptive volume; “Hey Meta” voice activation (use the touchpad and buttons instead).
- In temperatures below 32°F (0°C), insulating your glasses (for example, with a beanie, helmet or balaclava) can help maintain battery performance.
- Charging may take longer in cold conditions and charging will pause while the temperature is below 32°F (0°C).
- Turning off auto-import from your glasses could help conserve battery during cold weather. You can still import media while the device is charging in its case.
- Turn on Battery Saver in the Meta AI app (Device settings > Battery > Battery saver).
Steps 1-6 are from the 'Maximize battery life' section on the Oakley Meta glasses tab of 'Battery life on AI glasses'; step 7 is from the battery saver article (864186983074470). Step 3 merges a two-item bullet list.

Tips
- Battery saver pauses "Hey Meta", automatic volume and auto-transfer, and limits video to 1 minute at 1080p and 30 fps. It turns off by itself once the glasses charge to 75% or above.
- Shoot in Full HD (1080p) and keep clips short. You can switch back to higher resolution any time.
- In freezing weather, Meta suggests keeping the glasses insulated under a beanie, helmet or balaclava, and turning off auto-import.
- Ask "Hey Meta, what is my battery level?" to check without opening the app.
Questions people ask
Does battery saver work on Meta Glasses?
Meta's battery saver article names all Ray-Ban Meta glasses, Oakley HSTN and Oakley Vanguard. It does not name Meta Glasses, so check Device settings, then Battery in the app.
