Meta Ray-Ban Display vs Even G2

These are the two display glasses most often compared, and they take opposite approaches. Meta Ray-Ban Display has a camera, speakers, a full-color screen in one lens and the Neural Band wristband. Even G2 has no camera and no speakers at all: it puts green text in both lenses, weighs 36 g and relies on your phone for AI and translation. One is a Meta AI device with a screen added; the other is a quiet heads-up display for notes, prompts, translation and directions.

Short answer

Pick Display if you want photos, video, calls through the frame and a color screen, and you live in one of its six countries. Pick Even G2 if you want a light pair that takes strong prescriptions and carries no camera into meetings or classrooms. G2 is also sold in far more countries. Both need a phone for most features, so neither replaces it.

Choose Meta Ray-Ban Display if

Choose Display if the camera and speakers matter. It records photos and video, plays music and calls through open-ear speakers, and shows Meta AI answers, captions, messages and maps in color. The Neural Band adds gesture control and handwriting. Accept the limits: 69 g, 6 hours of mixed use, and Rx only from -4.00 to +4.00.

Choose Even G2 if

Choose Even G2 if you want text in front of you and nothing pointed at other people. It weighs 36 g, is rated IP65, and Even lists Rx from -12.00 to +12.00 sphere. Teleprompt, Conversate, Translate and Navigate run through the Even Realities app, and the optional R1 ring ($249) works as a controller.

Questions people ask

Does Even G2 work without a phone?

Not for most features. Even says Translate, Conversate, Navigate and Even AI need the phone online, while notifications pass over Bluetooth. The glasses keep the 10 most recent notifications.

Which one has longer battery life?

They are rated differently, so a direct comparison isn't possible. Meta rates Display at 6 hours of mixed use; Even says G2 lasts up to two days and its case holds seven full recharges, without publishing hours.
