How much storage do Meta glasses have?

Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 each have 32GB. Ray-Ban's US page says that holds 1000+ photos (3-frame burst) or 100+ thirty-second videos on Gen 3 and Gen 2 Optics. Captures stay on the glasses until you import them.

Meta treats the glasses as a holding area. Its newsroom says photos and videos you capture for your gallery are stored privately on the glasses, and you choose when to import them to your phone. Once imported, they sit in your phone's gallery like any other photo. Imports run through the Meta AI app over the glasses' own Wi-Fi link, which is why iPhones show a "Join Wi-Fi Network" prompt.

Not every model has a published figure in our data. Oakley Meta HSTN, Vanguard and Meta Ray-Ban Display have no storage number on file. UploadVR reports that Meta Glasses share Gen 2's storage, which Meta has not confirmed. Ray-Ban Meta Audio has no camera, so there is nothing to store.

Battery runs out before storage on a typical day. Ray-Ban's FAQ says one full charge covers capturing and syncing up to 25 thirty-second videos or up to 500 photos. Meta's battery advice is to use Full HD and shorter clips, which also stretches the space you have. Importing after each outing keeps space free.

Two things erase captures. A factory reset deletes everything on the glasses, and Meta says so plainly. Import before resetting, selling or returning a pair. If imports fail, the steps are on photos and videos won't import. Meta's fix for a forgotten Display passcode is also a factory reset, which is one more reason to import regularly.

Do photos upload to the cloud automatically?

Not by default. Meta says captures are stored privately on the glasses until you import them to your phone. Auto-import is a setting in the Meta AI app, and Meta suggests turning it off in cold weather to save battery.

Does restarting the glasses delete photos?

No. Meta says a restart or force restart does not erase un-imported media. Only a factory reset deletes captures.
