Glasses won't charge
Applies to Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), Meta Glasses (Adventurer, Fury, Starfire, Capri, Nova), Ray-Ban Meta Optics (Gen 2), Oakley Meta Vanguard, Meta Ray-Ban Display, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), Oakley Meta HSTN, Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1) and Ray-Ban Stories.
When Meta glasses refuse to charge, the cause is often mundane. Meta's checklist starts with the power switch, then the contacts: the pins on the nose bridge and inside the case need to be clean to make contact. The case light tells you what is happening, with orange for charging and green for full. A worn USB-C cable or a weak adapter can also stop the case itself from charging, so swap those before assuming the battery has failed.
Official steps
- Check the power switch is ON (LED blinks white then turns green).
- Dock the glasses in the case for an hour and make sure the charging pins on the nose bridge and in the case are clean.
- Orange case LED means the glasses are charging; green means fully charged.
- Try a different outlet, USB-C cable and power adapter.
- If nothing works after several hours, start a warranty claim.
Steps from the maker's support pages.[1]
Still not working?
If the glasses still show no sign of charging after several hours in a charged case, Meta says to start a warranty claim. You will need the serial number and proof of purchase. Claims for pairs bought on Ray-Ban.com go through Ray-Ban customer service; store and third-party purchases use the support form. See Meta glasses warranty.
Questions people ask
How long should I leave the glasses in the case before giving up?
Meta suggests docking them for an hour first, and starting a warranty claim if nothing works after several hours.
